Hello all, I have seen a lot of wonderfully positive reviews on here about the Amora Gem, and discussing it with my boyfriend, we have decided that this is the route we would like to take.. The stone looks beautiful, and it is much easier to afford which is a plus (we have a young daughter and are working towards purchasing/buying a house within the year).. My question is: if we were to purchase the loose stone online from BTD, is it difficult to get it set afterwards? Cost-wise, we can afford the stone right now, but the setting would double the price, and the engagement is still a few months off at least, and it would give him time to look at different settings.. Does BTD set loose stones in their settings if you ship them back? Or would we have to order the setting separately if we did decide to go through them as well and take both to a local jeweler? Thanks In Advance for your help!!

You could email their customer service and ask about sending the stone back to be set in one of their settings. From what I’ve heard it should not cost much to have it set at a local jeweler. Alot of the time if you purchase a setting from a jeweler they will set the stone for free. Any good jeweler would not have trouble setting an amora gem. It’s one of the hardest stones on the mohs scale next to diamond.

its normally very easy to have it set. you just need to make sure you get a setting to fit your stone. You would have to ask if BTD would set the stone after the fact as i am not sure what their policy is. If they have a stone in the size you want I would snatch it up soon! they go like hotcakes in the smaller sizes.

Thank you ladies!! We just purchased a 0.96 ct and are super excited!! I’ve seen them go quick and have been waiting for them to restock, and this will give us a chance to really think about the setting and maybe even have it custom made.. Thanks again!!
