S’mores, definitely. As you pointed out, not as many people will be able to use the loose tea – from those that don’t have the supplies, to those who just don’t like tea/care to both. S’mores is something pretty universally loved.

I vote smores. I dont think I would bother to use the loose tea, I have plenty of tea bags already that are much easier to use (and I do have the metal tea ball but just dont care for the extra work. Eh call me lazy.)  Smores on the other hand, I would eat that the second I got home and would sneakily try to eat my FHs too!!!

I love tea, but I don’t use loose tea. Lots of people don’t drink tea at all.

    Tea for sure!

We got little tins of tea at a wedding we went to a few years ago and I was thrilled – it was the best favour.

    Although I am British….! 🙂

Maybe bring something to keep the chocolate cold…smores is a good idea, though!

Wow that’s a tough one! I’m not a tea fan, but the tea idea is cute and call me crazy, but I think it goes with your teal/rustic theme more for some odd reason!

But ultimately, I love the s’more idea, which we will be doing at our wedding, too! I think it could be so much fun to mingle with guests while making s’mores at the end of the night. The fact that your chocolate might melt is kinda nerve-wrecking though! But can you put the chocolate indoors somewhere where it won’t melt? And by the time it’s smores time and dark outside maybe the temps will have cooled down?

I also like the idea of setting out the different types of chocolate and all the ingredients on a table rather than packacking some of them up “to-go”. I briefly considered doing little “to-go” packages, but c’mon… how many people are actually going to take that home and use it? Besides, for me personally, I want the least amount of work and money involved possible, so I don’t plan on doing the packets and tags and all that jazz.

@jymdrw:  LOVE the smores idea (esp. since you were engaged on the camping trip and that there is a fire pit near your reception).  I also like your idea of having ice packs under a *thin* blanket in the basket that will hold your goodies.  I know it’s summer in the midwest, but as long as they’re inside a place that isn’t roasting, they should be fine. Hell, at this rate it might still be winter then! Wink

Tea is a great idea too, as I’m a tea drinker.  However, I’ve never used loose tea and I wouldn’t have the slightest clue how to make it and probably wouldn’t, as silly as that is.  You will have a lot less people enjoy this favor, I think even those who do normally enjoy tea.
