Ok, clearly I’m in the minority here. I have a VERY tight budget & have recently lost my job. There is no way in the world I can spend over $3500 for a photographer, no matter how important I think it is. Don’t get me wrong – I see the value & if money was no object, I’m sure I would feel different. The reality of my situation is that I may only be able to hire a professional for the getting ready shots, ceremony & maybe some family stuff. I will likely need to have a friend capture the reception. Even then, I’ll be looking for an up & comer whose style reflects our style & will work cheap.
Yeah, it’ll be tough, but I’d rather have a fabulous party with all the people important to me & nice photos than a small ceremony with few guests & fabulous photos.
