Haha I do know the correct spelling, however, I’m really lazy on my phone and use Swype. When I use Swype it’s easier just to use ‘alot’ because I don’t have to pick up my finger. So lazy…..

There is a grocery store chain by me that is called “Save A Lot” but the sign makes it look like “alot” and it bothers me every single time that I see it!

@JackiBean:  generally I use “a lot”. But I type fast on here and don’t really watch what im typing. My job is to edit and format textdocuments day in and day out. So when I am on here I generally give my brain a break and just type without worrying about grammarspelling. I type how I talk and that’s really it.  I corect what I catch but I don’t go through my posts with a fine tooth comb. Sorry I’m not sorry! lol

btw, when I read posts I am mentally putting them into the format we use here at work so I constantly have to work to not mentally edit every post I read. It can be annoying sometimes but it’s a post on a message board… *shrugs shoulders*

@JackiBean:  I certainly know how to spell a lot, but I’m sure there’s times that I’ve typo’d alot and didn’t notice if not using a spellcheck application.  Like on weddingbee!  I type fast and tend to make a lot of those simple fat-finger errors.  I assume everyone knows what I meant, but I suppose it’s possible they just think I’m a dummy!

Lol! I can be a grammar/spelling nazi myself, and certain things like that bug me too!

But I’m not perfect either. Sometimes I accidentally type the wrong their/they’re/there, it’s/its, your/you’re, to/too, etc… and there are a couple of things I prefer to do “wrong” for whatever reason, or forget which is right, like each other/eachother.

And there are certain slang words I love too, like I’ma and gonna. 😛
