Hi cambiasosgirl,

british designer sassi holford has featured a gown almost identical to the Opera in her 2012 collection; the gown is called Thea, though i’m guessing it’s on the expensive side ;-( (pic below). so i think you’re on to a (re-)emerging bridal ‘trend’ that hasn’t become very widespread just yet….  i think your best bet at this stage would be to bring pictures of your preferred style to a dressmaker & ask them to replicate it.  [in the meantime if i come across the Opera i will let you know]. best of luck!

I too do not like strapless. Sheer lace straps and sleeves make the dress so much more elegant.

What about the Wtoo Astoria?  It has a really lovely low back.  it doesn’t have quite the amount of detail of the Opera, but it’s a very nice dress and closer to $1000.
