@firsttimemom:  I think for most of us, we don’t notice it.  From the name, you’d think it would be this huge wad of gunk…. but what it’s plugging is rather small before you start to dilate.  I only noticed mine one out of three tiimes!

I definitely noticed.  Twice.  (It can build back up after you lose it.)

It looked like a quarter sized ball of snot with dried blood in it.  But if you lose it in the shower, you’d miss it.

I was dilated to 2cm when I lost it. It was totally noticable. It was probably the most unpleasant part of pregnancy just because it was so different and weird. About two hours later, my water broke and two hours after that I had given birth.

You’re almost there!!!

Wow… didn’t happen that way for me.  Guess I could be happy about that, from the sound of it.  When I did notice it, it was more of a stringy, snotty looking thing with a dot of blood on it.

I’ll be 39 weeks on Tuesday and I haven’t noticed losing mine.  And I’ve been looking for it!

I didn’t see it until 38 weeks and I gave birth at 39 weeks.  Be patient!

I only noticed it when I was at 4cms.  (I walked around at 4cm for 21 days, and it was very noticeable.)

I only had bloody show while my cervix was changing, so that is a really, really good sign!

I noticed. And then I told my hubby, so he googled mucus plug and accidently looked at images. He was so grossed out! You could do the same though, so you know what to expect.
