I want to know if there were anyone out there who has had luck losing enough weight the last weeks before their wedding? Or if there is anyone who is currently doing that? I’m looking to lose 5-8 pounds before my 1/1/11 date and was hoping to try what others have succeeded in.
I currently have started doing my Turbo Jam and Turbo Fire (from beachbody) workouts again, but I want to know is the diet plans and recipes you have followed and used? I am willing to starve myself a few days! hahaha no joke though!

Eat more frequently, but with smaller portions. Write down EVERYTHING you eat, and calculate calories. The second you realize how much/what kinds of things you’re putting into your body without realizing it, you’ll be scared straight, lol. Don’t forget how many calories can be in seemingly innocuous drinks like fruit juice.
I used to do cardio at least 3 times a week for an hour each session. No change in my appearance or weight. The second I added in keeping a food diary and imposing a moderate calorie restriction on myself, boom, the pounds started to melt away.
Don’t completely give up your guilty pleasures. If it’s one of those days where you just NEED that 300 calorie slice of cake, just budget your allowed calories for the rest of the day so that you don’t go over your limit.
Eat whole grains (no white rice or regular pasta!), they’ll make you feel full faster and for longer.
There are plenty of online calculators you can use to figure out a good number of calories to limit yourself to. Don’t try to lose more than 2 pounds per week or you’re more likely to binge eat and gain it right back.
I dropped 2 dress sizes in 4 months using these guidelines, I’m sure you’ll be able to do 5-8 pounds if you start now and just go about it sensibly. Good luck!

Jillian Michaels’ 30 day shred. And honestly, I lost weight the week of the wedding because I was too busy to eat haha

Well I wasn’t trying to, but I did lose about 5 lbs in the last couple of weeks before my wedding. I was so busy/stressed, I could barely eat anything even if I tried. I would go all day and realize I hadn’t eaten anything, but the thought of food stressed me out.
Don’t get too excited though, I gained it all back immediately after the wedding!

Not for nothing but if you are really desperate and want a sure-fire way to drop the lbs. I would cut out carbs for as long as you can muster. I do believe that Atkins works and know that it is not necessarily healthy for long-term use. If you cut out carbs though you will lose the weight fast. I did that for this week and have lost 3.5 lbs. Also you will gain it back after you start eating carbs again.
Good luck! I’m sure you will look beautiful regardless!

I am willing to do those crash diets! haha I don’t care if I gain it back fast after my elopement….the point is, I want to look good in my dress! hahahahahaha
Of course after our elopement, I will go about it the right way and continue working out. I just need to lose that weight fast for my dress 🙂 I want my waistline to look awesome!

@linguo42: thanks for the tip. i’ve done this before, but haven’t been consistent with keeping up with it, so i don’t know just how helpful it really is. it definitely sounds promising since you dropped 2 sizes in four months just by doing this with cardio 3 times a week.
after the wedding, i do plan on dropping back to my original size the right way, which I am 1-2 sizes less than i am now. I actually weighed more before after my pregnancy, but it’s always that last 10-15 pounds that’s the hardest….

I lost weight the week of the wedding because I was stressed out and running too many errands all the time! But in all seriousness… I replaced my typical “lunch” with a chobani greek yogurt and a package of almonds and ate a good breakfast and dinner. It is low calorie and full of protein so it gives you energy and makes you feel fuller than other stuff you can eat in the middle of the day. Good luck!

What a surprise, I was lucky enough that Chalene Johnson (Turbo Fire/Turbo Jam) opened up her Facebook wall for questions. She recommended I do her Turbo Fire 5 Day Inferno and do Shakeology cleanse the week before…..I guess that’s the right away to go about it, and she is the expert 🙂 Wish me luck!

Just make sure that your dress will still fit you well if you do drop 5lbs or so suddenly the week of the wedding. I probably lost 3 or 4 pounds from stress/excitement/nerves, and my dress, which I had fitted about a week before my wedding, was slightly looser than I wanted, which led to it sliding down somewhat toward the end of the night, which was annoying.
