@Mrs.ChubbyBunny: Wow! Is it mandatory? did she already buy a dress and did he pay for a tux?

Sad. How frustrating for them to miss your wedding for something that seems so non-essential… especially when they’ve already invested money in their attire, etc. I would try to think of a way to give them a special thank-you for everything they’ve done, since they won’t get to enjoy the wedding in person. Bummer!! For you AND for them.

Dang, I’ve heard so many similar stories about the military and attendants.  Unless it’s your own, there’s nothing you can do.  I am so sorry.  That would be so devastating to me.  I so hope that your wedding is magical still ๐Ÿ™‚

On the plus side, I was expecting this post to be a lot worse. As in, there have been many air show tragedies lately in the news, and I was thinking they lost their lives in one.

It’s really too bad, I’m sure they’re probably just as upset as you are that they are missing it, but it’s crazy to think they have to work it considering they took leave specifically to be able to go to your wedding. How frustrating! I’m sorry this happened, but I’m sure your wedding will be great, anway!

Oh no, CB. ๐Ÿ™ I’m so sorry to hear that. Could you maybe ask them to tape a congratulatory and supportive message as a surprise to Fiance to play at your reception? Then at least they could be there in some fashion.

Seriously? That is just ridiculous.

I feel really bad for you and your Fiance.

We had an attendant have to back out a month or two before because the Army decided to send her to classes in another state. But we did have some warning. Thankfully she had an inkling they might pull it so she waited to buy tickets and whatnot but it was still pretty rotten.

I’m sorry about this! The same thing is going to happen to me at my wedding. My reception is on THE afb and they won’t let a groomsman off because he has to work down the street that day. Seriously. I know how you feel!
