- Wedding: April 2013
We got engaged in February and immediately started planning the wedding for next April. Last Wednesday (a week before my birthday and about 10 months from our wedding date), I find out that I no longer have a job. WOW!! It came as a total shock and all I could think was “oh sh$!, we have a wedding to pay for, bills to pay, and what the hell am I going to do?” After telling my Fiance (who was totally supportive), I almost felt relieved that I now have the opportunity to work in a field that I enjoy…marketing!! I lost my marketing job back in 2008 and ended up taking a job in field that I never would have worked in, but at the time, I had been out of work for over 6 months and needed to make money. Here it is almost 4 years later, and I am searching for marketing jobs.
I could have drowned in sadness and worry because of the timing and the stress of the wedding planning, but I can’t. Luckily, I have some money saved up to live on for the next couple months and I may go ahead and get a part time job for extra money until I find something permanent in marketing. I believe things happen for a reason and apparently the career path I was on was the wrong one. Although it is difficult at times, I just have to keep a positive attitude and know that this too shall pass.
Any other bees have a similar situation? What have you done?
