Did you pay for tracking on the package? And/or request a signature?

If you did, you should be fine because the apartment manager will have to sign for it and make sure it gets to your bridesmaid.

If not, I am not sure what will happen; hopefully the delivery person will take it to the apartment office and ask them where your bridesmaid’s apartment is.

Did you send it USPS? If so, you need to go into the post office ASAP and let them know. They can call the local post office (where it was sent) and alert them to keep an eye out for it.

Their customer service isn’t always great, but it IS an option. Good luck!

@knittybynature:  Sweetie – just breathe.  It is going to be ok.  Since you have a delivery confirmation, try contacting the post office to see if there is a way that you can ammend the address prior to delivery.  Call your friend and explain what happened.  She may also be able to leave a note where the mail is delivered to notify the mailman of the package that is to be expected without an apartment number.  Usually, the same mailman comes each day since they have designated routes.  Don’t worry!!  It will be ok!  HUGS!!

I’m not sure this helps, but depending on how well her postman knows his route addresses, it still might make it to her.  I also live in an apartment (with no manager on site) and people forget to put my apartment number on mail all the time.  My mailbox doesn’t have my last name (just my FI’s), but mail still manages to make it into the right box.  I hope everything works out!

What karatechick27 said–I live in a 250-unit building, and I still get my mail even without my apartment number. Don’t stress it yet. And the delivery confirmation, etc. should definitely help.

BREATHE!

Unless you’re sending it to San Francisco, where the mail delivery guys SUCK (they return mail even when the address is right, especially if its a package because they don’t feel like carrying it..) the package will make it.

Calm down, call her and ask her to watch for it… Call the post office like others said, and offer to pay for a new dress if this one is, in fact lost. It’s not too hard to find a navy blue dress. 🙂

@knittybynature: Well… Lets just hope she doesn’t have my mail carrier. Or my old one. 🙁 My fingers are crossed for you! It shouldn’t take more than a day for it to get here…

Wow, I would be freaking out too. But I think that since you have delivery confirmation and it’s in an apartment complex it will find it’s way to the right number. We usually have a regular post-man so he is familiar with names (kind of). He can just match it up with the other mail she will hopefully be receiving 🙂
