So a couple months ago my SO and I went to Shane Co. and picked out an engagement ring. I knew he wouldn’t be buying it anytime soon, but he agreed to go and I fell in love with the ring I picked out. The sales person there said that they would write down all the info about the ring (including my ring size) and put it in a file in the back under my SO’s name. That way when he is ready to buy, all he needs to do is say “Pull that paper since I know that’s what she wants!”
I can feel that we are getting closer to a proposal, so today I decided to stop in Shane Co. to try on my ring again to ensure that it’s still what I want. After waiting for a sales lady to look for the paper for at least 10 minutes, I found out that they threw our paper away! She said that they usually throw them away if they’ve been on file for more than a year, but it’s only been a few months. I tried to describe the ring to her, but she said she had no clue which one it was and I would basically have to start the whole ring shopping process over again! I felt so frustrated because I really did fall in love with that ring and it took forever to find the first time.
I decided not to look through rings right then and headed home. When I got home, I asked my SO if he happened to have a picture of the ring paper with the info on it (he typically saves stuff like that). Turns out he may have had a card with the info on it but he lost it. I start thinking, “Crap, my dream ring is gone and now I just ruined the plan by bringing up engagement talk.” However, I was shocked to find that he wasn’t even bothered and instead the next thing out of his mouth was, “Don’t worry about it, that’s probably better actually. Now you can go to Jared instead to look at rings, I think they have better diamond quality. We can go together.”
To top it off, he offered to go today! He’s still getting over being sick, so I feel kind of badly about having him go now, but I am so excited! This never would have happened back in the day, lol. And he did say that if he wasn’t feeling up to it today that we could definitely go at least tomorrow!
Just wanted to share my excitement!
