@shawndy:  Oh no, I am so sorry. Breath…. Take a moment and lets regroup. 4 months out and funds are limited but you can still pull this off. Have you tried calling around? Ask your prebooked vendors about alternate venues to have the wedding. Most vendors has a list of places they use and may be able to help you out. Yes, its nonrefundable but they still also have a heart and I think they would help you a little bit due to the nature of it all. I’m really sorry about all of it but try to make a list of friends, vendors etc to call and you never know you may luck up. Maybe a nice garden or rec center to rent to have your event. All is not lost- you can totally do this.

If your venue cancelled, and you had already booked vendors, if the vendor cannot work at the new venue, then the original venue should eat that nonrefundable deposit for you (pay you the deposit).   Unfortunately, if your venue was on a military base, then this could happen – sorry.  The DOD can raise the threat level at anytime.

Can you look into firehouses, legions, VFWs, churchs, etc?  Don’t think just of regular wedding venues – anything could work.

Everything will be okay.  Just take a few minutes to calm down and relax.  You should be able to find something else.  Like PP said, check out the American Legion, Moose Clubs, etc.  They would probably be a good place for a 50s style wedding and not too expensive either.
