If you find something and you know it belongs to and refuse to return it is is stealing.  That is horrible.  I feel bad that their child bonded with the puppy but the original family is willing to work with them on the transition.

Whaaat. That’s terrible. There are SO many dogs that need homes — the second family should adopt one of those dogs instead of refusing to return this poor girl’s pet.

That’s so messed up. Hopefully this will go viral enough that someone will either figure out what family has the dog, or the people who stole her will feel guilty enough that they give it back.

I would have to hurt someone.

This makes me so mad.

If someone stole my cat I would hunt them down and torture them to death. Seriously, that’s not cool. Pets are part of the family. That’s like stealing someone’s child!

Un-freaking-believable!  As other’s have mentioned, what are these parents thinking they are teaching their children?!  Also, I love that they had to bring up that the boy is “autistic”.  So because your child has a disability he’s, what, more worthy/deserves the dog more??  No, you can’t use that excuse.  Depending on the severity, the kid probably won’t quite understand why he can’t keep the dog, but that should be even MORE reason to teach him about returning things that DO NOT belong to him!

They should set an example for their child and return the dog.

I would probably end up in jail for B&E if I was the original owner.

I feel so bad for the little girl Alyssa. She seemed so calm and sweet. Honestly if they do find the family I hope they fine them with something. Or the parents of the little girl sue the family. That’s just not right.

That is so horrible.  I hope this family comes to their senses and returns the dog because it isn’t teaching their children anything good to keep someone else’s pet.

Why the hell are the police saying that it’s not stealing? If I “found” someone’s car, finders keepers, right?

I am so angry right now. I think I’m going to go take a shower to cool down.

So the family who found the dog had the chance to ‘bond’ with it over the course of a week…? What the heck did they think happened with the first family? Weren’t they bonded to it at all?
