Sorry, ladies. I pretty much just need to vent right now.
My SO is moving in with me this week and I couldn’t be happier. My landlord gave me a rental agreement for him to fill out a few weeks ago, and when he was finished, I put it in a envelope, put a stamp on it, and brought it into work with me so I would be able to see it get picked up by the mailman. The mailman came into my office, took the outgoing mail, and noticed the address I was mailing it to was right around the corner, so he said he would just take it there himself since it was kind of thick and he wasn’t sure if it would fit through the sorting machine. This actually made me feel better knowing all my SO’s information was only going to travel a short distance and would get there the same day. It had the correct amount of postage so he took the letter and went on his merry way. This was June 20th. As soon the rental agreement went out the door, I emailed my landlord and said the agreement was on it’s way to him.
This morning I get an email from my landlord saying he never received the rental agreement, and now I am pissed. I am going to ask the mailman about it tomorrow, but I have a feeling he’ll say “It’s not my fault. I took it to the right place.” It never came back to me in the mail, and my landlord said he searched his office and it’s not there. I’ve never had anything get lost in the mail before, and it’s just really unsettling considering it has my SO’S social security number on it and everything. Sigh. The ultimate irony is the whole reason I mailed it from my office and not my house was because I thought it would have less of a chance of getting lost with the mailman.
