@PacificMrs: You poor thing!!
Stop talking!! Duct tape your mouth. Seriously!! Don’t whisper either, it’ll make it worse.
Keep your throat moist (lozenges, water, tea)
Don’t drink coffee! Don’t drink alcohol!
Take a teaspoon of honey every few hours
Steam!! Inhale it!!
ETA: Don’t gargle anything, it’ll put more strain on your voice box.

Oh my gosh, poor you! Is worth getting checked out with the Dr in case there is anything they can do?

@MsBeer: Not since my doctor is 45 minutes away and we don’t have urgent care in our little town unfortunately. 🙁
@Quinlan: Thank you! I’ll be trying the steam and honey thing constantly. I’m going to take a few bottled waters from.the fridge now so I have them at room temp for today.
Ugh. Why me?!?!

@PacificMrs: Oh no, that’s a shame. I am sure if you take all the other advice you will be fine for tomorrow. I will keep my fingers crossed for you. xxx

Hot water with honey. (Tea, but herbal, no caffeine.) Hard candy. Take the longest, hottest shower you can stand and breeeaaaaathe that steam. I’m a language teacher, so I feel you on the lost voice. I can do about 4.5 classes in a row before I get scratchy and some days I have 5 or 6. Herbal tea and hard candies are my bffs.

Thanks ladies! I did some Googling and found out singers swear by this tea called throat coat (i know, I know) which is only $5, so I’m having Fiance pick me up some today. I fell back asleep for about an hour and I still have quite a bit of voice compared to an hour ago when I woke up, so today I’m keeping my mouth shut, drinking tea with honey, downing some of this so called miracle cure tea, and taking some super hot showers. Thanks for all of the suggestions!

If it’s still bad – I find garging dispersable asprin is good for temporary relief (you don’t even have to swallow it, but i do as i normally get a sore throat in conjunction with a cold)
