My fiancé and I are stuck on what date we should choose! We live in Houma, Louisiana and our ceremoney will be outside a plantation! February 23rd is our first choice but wondering if April weather is better? What do you think? (FYI this is my first post and not to sure what I’m doing, new to the site)

@mrsrobichaux2B: Hey Mrs. R. Welcome! I personally refer April’s weather than February. But it really depends on what you’re looking for.

@mrsrobichaux2B: I worry about the rain in April. That’s always an issue! We picked mid-November because it’s the tail end of hurricane season, not freezing yet, and the chance of rain is pretty low. Good luck! Are you getting married at Southdown?

@mrsrobichaux2B: Well I have no advice about the weather but welcome and congrats! It has always been a dream of mine to get married on a plantation. Too bad I live in Canada :/

See we don’t want to wait that long even though November is nice so it’s Feb or April because 2013 is def the year! We chance it being cool in feb Avg is about 60 degrees but more Mosquitos in April! The rain history for both dates for the last 14 years look A okay…fingers crossed lol!

Good luck! My cousin got married outdoors on 4/17 two years ago in Venetian Isles, and the rain held up but it was HOT! Stay well hydrated 🙂

I was in wedding last April in Baton Rouge and the weather was pretty warm! My Fiance came with me to the wedding and was surprised at how warm it can be down there in the Spring ( he if from TN and I live here now)
My brother and SIL got married in BR 2 February’s ago and it was cool, not cold, but the skies were very grey and wintery in all of their photos. If you want nice outdoor shots I would stick with April, because let’s be real, you can NEVER predict the weather in Louisiana!

I think March/April and October/September are the most popular months for getting married in New Orleans. My wedding is coming up in two months.

I would choose February; a better chance of better weather. Even though it’s kind of a gamble, by April it’s usually already started to get hot. Just personally, I’d rather it cool than hot which is why we went with November! (And it was still low 70s!)

I’m getting married February 23, 2013 near Baton Rouge and hoping it isn’t too cold! The weather here is so unpredictable, but didn’t want to wait any longer because off all the rain!
