I really wanted to share this, and didn’t think it was appropriate to share on FB or somewhere where people who aren’t invited to my wedding would see it. I hope it makes sense to post it here!!!!
Only one of my bridesmaids lives in the state I live in- the rest are scattered from CA to TX to NYC, so asking in person was NOT an option for me.
I got the idea of paper chains from another thread on weddingbee from a while back. I sent each girl a box:
I made the cards & envelopes myself. I printed Lilly Pulitzer “Bling my Chimes” print at FedEx and then cut and lined the envelopes:
I used the same print on the cards:
And on the inside of the cards:
Each girl also got a personal note (as seen on the pink paper in one of the above images).
So, moving onto the boxes, they opened up to reveal:
(In each girl’s box, her doll was on top). All my paper chains in a row:
Underneath the paper chain, the boxes looked like this:
And once all was said and done and the boxes were unwrapped, I had included a photo of each bridesmaid with me in a lovely frame from Pottery Barn:
So, what do you think? How did you ask your wedding attendants to be in your wedding???

Wow that is an incredibly thoughtful way to ask your bridesmaids to be in your wedding!! I love it!

Very cute! I’m a loser bride I just texted them that I was engaged! And told asked them to be a bridesmaid. Yours is so much cuter and more thoughtful! I’m not a crafty person so not sure I could have pulled it off.

@ParaSarah: Worst friend ever, my butt! If I could have asked my girls in person, I would have 100% done it.

@TwoCityBride: Thanks for the accolades. I’ll be honest, most of them already knew I was “asking” them anyway. And because school is out for the summer, I had time on my hands. Had I been in the middle of a full-time job, I would never have spent the time on all those arts and crafts! Being busy does not a loser bride make!!!
