I was looking to create an inexpensive and different invitation that went well with the theme of my wedding. I did not want a bunch of inserts and extra paper because of the cost and the fact that they would likely be thrown away, so the invite is front and back only.
They are not finished/assembled because I don’t want to print until way closer to our wedding date, but I am cutting/punching the purple and decided to print out some fake info to share with y’all. My cuts on the white aren’t exactly perfect and there are a few words that need to be added/replaced, but overall this is them.

What is the blue trim made of? It looks so delicate and pretty.

Nicely done — I love all the punches that Martha Stewart has out now, did you use one of hers? I’ve been toying with the idea of using one.

Those are super cute! Love it! I want to know how you made the trim too.

BEAUTIFUL! I love the lace edges!

Thanks, ladies! I used a fiskars paper trim punch I got from Joanns. Only cost like $8 on sale.
Here it is on the fiskars website, can’t find it on joanns.

Love the edging!
So is this three sheets– a middle purple sheet with the lace cutout and a front white and back white? Or one white sheet with two purple edges glued on?

@ellabee: yeah three sheets, purple is a full piece of paper with 2 edges punched out and then two white pieces of paper glued on each side. I can get 4 pieces of purple paper from one 12X12 sheet. The white is a recycled paper and I can get each side printed on one piece of regular sized paper.

Those look amazing! That’s some serious paper punch dedication, though :).

I love the edges, great job!

@jo.lee: Yeah, 3 punches on each side, but I only have 30 invites to make, so its not too bad. I would still do it with 100 invites though, haha.

They look amazing! What font did you use? It looks beautiful! Did you print them yourself?

@Smiley Bride: I used
Little Lord Fontleroy
and the M at the top is Imprint MT Shadow
Yes, I’m using my home inkjet to print, it seems to work well and the paper I bought for them takes the ink much better than my regular printer paper.
