FINALLY! MY WAIT IS OVER!
My dress is altered and in! I am so glad I purchased in ivory. I looks great on me and I am just so pleased with it. I went with just my mom and she’s not especially camera savy so I am lucky to have gotten any pictures at all. We forgot to take pictures of my dress unbustled.
Sorry these are so huge. Not sure how to make them smaller!
Since another bee recently posted about bridal cleavage. I thought I would talk about this. I am a 34 barely A. I have never had cleavage in my life. I am wearing a davids bridal bra under this dress and added cups. Is it too much? Unfortunately I don’t have another picture to compare without the added cups. We will be having a Catholic wedding in a church and I don’t feel like it looks inappropriate, because I don’t have a ton of boob action going on, but I am excited to look like I have something there for once! I am sure Fiance won’t mind either! : )
Ok, let’s talk about bustles. I really don’t care for bustles. When we went in for my first meeting with alterations, she showed me two different ways she could bustle my dress. I didn’t love either, so I went with the cheapest option. I think it is a four point bustle. Now that it is done, I still don’t love it. Not sure how to feel about it. I just think that it creates some ugly points on the back of my dress. Kind of upset about it, but not sure what to do. I signed off on my dress and took it home. I guess I could carry my train all night, but that could get really exhausting.
Here are some pictures. Maybe I should have taken the veil off so I could see it a little better.
(Sorry these pictures are so big! I couldn’t figure out how to make them smaller…)
SO… LOVE my dress unbustled. Don’t really care for the bustle. Not sure what to do about it. Maybe it would look better it I didn’t have my veil on or if we had poofed the dress or something…. I really don’t know.
Ok Bees, share your thoughts!
Too much cleavage?
Is the bustle really as awful as I think? Do you love the way your dress looks bustled? Do you like bustles? Any brides come up with other alternatives for dresses with trains. I love my train, but I don’t love my bustle.

I can only answer number one: but not too much cleavage at all, it looks really great! Sorry, I don’t really know much about bustles :(. Have you heard about Mrs. Nacho’s bustle, though? I know a lot of people on here really love it (you can search “Nacho bustle” and a ton of results come up).

1) Cleavage: Not too much! I think that could look too cleavage on someone with a larger chest, but I think it just accents your curves.
2) Bustle: I think you should try an underbustle of some sort. That just sort of looks like an afterthought and doesn’t do the pretty design on the skirt any justice.
The dress looks great on you, though!

The cleavage is fine and as a fellow barely A girl – rock it girl! You look beautiful with a touch of sexy.
As for the bustle, could you just not bustle it?

I agree. Cleavage is non-issue and under bustle would look better.
By The Way – you look super happy, congrats on getting your dress!

I dont think its too much cleavage at all. My Future In-Laws are catholic, and I am worried about cleavage.. Naturally a 32DD. (not to sound weird) but your size looks just perfect for a bride! Not too out there, but gives you a good shape to match the style of dress.
WIth the bustle, I think a under would be best, and talking to a seamstress friend, it is realtivly easy for anyone with sewing skills.

I think you’re good on cleavage, and an underbustle might give you the look you’re going for a little better! Talk to your seamstress and see what can be done!

Yay! My music friend! 🙂 The dress is beautiful, and it’s not too much cleavage at all (I’m also a 34 almost A….I totally get it!) Wish I knew much about bustles…

Your dress is gorgeous and you look beautiful in it. Love the ivory on you! Not too much cleavage at all. No worries.
I think a French bustle would look great. Hopefully you can find someone to do an under bustle for a good price.

gorgeous dress. Have you considered a french bustle? I think it might look really pretty with that dress!

We did try a french bustle when I first went in. She pinned it, and it just looked bad. Worse than this.
I love the idea of the Nacho bustle. I wonder if it will work on organza. Has anyone tried it?

I think your instincts are right — the bustle doesn’t look quite the way it should. I vote for the French bustle, as suggested by some other bees. The dress is gorgeous and you look great. It would be a shame for the bustle to take away from that!

@pink.sequins:Thank you! Despite the bustle, I am so excited to wear it!

Your def. not showing too much chest it’s modest and fits very perfectly to you, don’t change a thing! I’m not a big fan of that bustle myself but the dress is very pretty and I LOVE THE VEIL!

@HappilyEverAfter54: Thanks! I love the veil too! It’s just a chapel length, so I hope it’s manageable!
