You can delete pictures at any time after you upload them through WB, so you shouldn’t feel worried about showing your ring.

@Mrs. Fireworks: not entirely.  I have deleted many of my WB photos, but then I could find them through a google search. it’s been more than a month, and some of the photos are still popping up.  all I have to do is google “janie-janie” and “weddingbee” and they are still there.

seriously, it’s not 100% guaranteed that you can control your photos once you put them on the web.

It doesn’t bother me for lots of reasons, but mainly because my ring is far from being a custom piece so there are other people with the exact ring (or even similar) all over the place, not to mention the pics from the store where I purchased it.  If anyone wanted to take the time to google and see if they could find my EXACT ring (like, looking up all halo ring pics and comparing the background to see if it matched my couch or something) I would honestly be super flattered / a little creeped out they’d taken the time Wink

However, if I had taken a LONG time custom designing something that was completely one of a kind, I might be a little more cautious about it so a stranger didn’t steal the design for their own…although I’d probably be so proud I’d show it anyway (privately, if possible) to select people.

@Mrs. Fireworks:  How do you delete pics on WB after you post them and after the one-hour edit window ends?

I love ring porn and I love showing my pictures too, because I know bees will always appreciate it! Haha. Sometimes I get a little annoyed with myself and think “Okay, you’ve posted your ring/this picture enough, knock it off!” and I get worried people are getting annoyed too, but I post away still!

I don’t care, it’s just my ring. I’d have much more serious reservations about posting my boudoir pics for everyone to see.

If you delete your photos from your “uploaded photos” then they will disappear from your posts.  I don’t know how long google and other search engines have images “cached” or whatever it’s called.  But eventually they should be gone from searches.

@janie-janie: That’s just because Google hasn’t cached that page since you deleted it. Eventually, Google and other search engines get around to updating the cache of each site (by crawling through all of the pages) and it will update.

Back to the original post – what’s wrong with having a pic of just your ring on the web? As long as you don’t take the photo on top of your mail with your personal name and address visible, I don’t necessarily see how it could do any harm. If you post a lot of other personal stuff through your WB account or have a username that could easily be identified with you, other people might see pictures of your ring, but most of the ring pics I’ve seen on WB are completely harmless.

Haha, I’m more reserved about posting face pics than ring pics. But I worry someone I know will recognize my ring & see just how obsessed I’ve been throughout the wedding planning process 🙂
