<div class=”gmail_default”>Hello Ladies,
I am a long-time lurker, and this is my first thread. I tried posting this before, and the bee crashed. Ugh, that never happened before. Here’s a shorter version, haha. Originally, I got pulled in my the glorious ring threads because, I absolutely adore jewelry. Anyway, today I ordered a new ring. This is a Lover’s or Couple’s Ring, and I wonder if anyone else is familiar with or wears them? Or another ring of symbolic meaning on the left ring finger that is not an engagement or wedding band? I will admit, Lover’s rings are old-fashioned. These rings are is often a simple, sterling silver or gold band, and is worn to signify a serious, romantic relationship commitment sans the agreement of marriage. That is how it differs from an engagement ring. Some rings have the names engraved or their significant other’s birthstones worked into the design. Usually lover’s exchange these as love tokens, and can be worn on any finger. Both my boyfriend, and I wear ours on the left ring fingers. To be fair, neither of us mind if people in public assume we are engaged or married. It’s close enough. 🙂 Lover’s Rings are likely closest to modern day Promise Rings. Somehow, they are recently trending as pre-engagement rings. Although, Promise Rings can be a promise of anything.
My boyfriend now has two Lover’s rings. He created a domed, silver band by hand. I just surprised him with a tungsten band with celtic dragons wound around the band in comfort fit. He LOVES it! Sometimes, he literally forgets it’s there because the ring is so natural feeling to him. Awww! Phew, I had to sort of guess the size, and nailed it! Comfort fit makes a ring feel tighter. I switch between my rings. Most days, I wear a silver, twisted band with cubic zirconia (A.K.A. CZ’s or glass). I wanted an upgrade, and ring hunted for months. There’s absolutely nothing wrong with glass, however, I have plenty of it. I wanted white gold, and an oval moissanite. My freshly ordered Lover’s Ring will be an oval halo, with filigree sides, and accent moissanites down the band in half eternity style. I am super excited. Can you tell? 😉 So does anyone else wear a Lover’s, promise, school or other type of ring on the left ring finger? Or another finger?
Anyway, my boyfriend’s new ring looks like this tungsten silver-toned, and black beauty. The dragons are to meant remind him of me.</div>
<div class=”gmail_default”>Mine looks similar to this ring with a single twist in the center. The twist or rope design represents, of course, our entwined lives, and bond we share.</div>
