WHAT?! What a weird thing to say!
I just got our Save the Dates (large-format postcard) and have started addressing them. I am a perfectionist when it comes to design and the look/feel of something, so I really had wanted to come up with a way to computer address them, but it just wasn’t going to work to order Vistaprint postcards and put them through my printer for the addresses.
To my surprise, I am LOVING how the hand-addressing is looking. And it isn’t taking much time, plus is giving me a way to triple-check everyones’ names and addresses. We have about 130 to do and Fiance is going to do his side. I think it will be really nice for his side to receive something with what is obviously his handwriting on it!
I’m also planning on hand-addressing the invitations (which I will do all myself since I use cursive) because I’m using dark gray envelopes and will need to write on them with a white gel pen. I was kind of wishing, for design reasons, that I had gone with something lighter so I could run them through the printer but now I am so happy I’m hand-addressing them! I just feel like it makes them stand out a little bit, it would catch my attention in the mail. That’s especially helpful with the postcard Save-The-Date Cards since they could get mixed in with advertising.
I LOVE the way computer addressing looks and am all for others doing it that way. I just wanted to share that if you’re considering hand-addressing, you might be surprised that you really like it!
