Just be careful for those little spots you can’t see. Several years I was going to work nights; walking on my driveway, hit a tiny patch of ice and fell. Did a split actually. I could not move, was screaming for my now ex husband who was in the house asleep. He finally heard me. I tore my hamstring off of the bone and had a horrific bruise.

I am TERRIFIED of ice. I already fall a lot because of a muscle disease. Another great one was one night I bought a beta fish for my new apartment. Walking to sidewalk and fell in a heap. The fish container broke but the fish was still in the plastic bag. This couple came by and helped me up. I was carrying my fish in the bag and I fell again. All I kept saying was that I wanted to save my fish. I am pretty sure the couple thought I was crazy or drunk or both.

@Newbeg:  My pleasure!  Also, my worrywort father gave me those shoe grips as part of my Xmas gifts! lol. Have to admit – they do work.  People who gawk at them are just the next ones to fall on ice !

Oh yea, they lt the heck out of things here, love it! they will pre spray the roads/parking lots with salt to prevent ice. literally the parking lot will be white like a piece of paper. it makes  a huge difference.

They don’t do it everywhere because it doesn’t work well at all temperatures.  It also causes cars to rust.  Here, they use sand.  People also pick up sand and do the sidewalks.
