Off Beat Road Trip!!!!  There’s all kinds of wacky things to go visit down South…make an itinerary, load up the car with snacks and hit the road in the spirit of life, love, adventure and fining the weirdest T-shirts possible!

We are doing a mini honeymoon I guess its only 2 days but we are renting out a private cabin for just the two of us. Costing us $250 total…taxes and everything. You could go camping or something if you are into the outdoors

Weekend in St. Augustine.  Check out The Agustin Inn.  We stay there regularly.  Great location, friendly staff, and yummy breakfasts.  My FH loves the in-room jacuzzi/hot tub.

try living social, they always have some good deals on hotels or cabins.

Can you not add any money to that?

That will likely only get you MAYBE 2 nights in a cheap hotel, a couple very cheap meals, and maybe a tank of gas?

You could always wait a few months and take your honeymoon after you have had more time after the wedding to save up.  It is not uncommon for brides to take their honeymoon a few months after the wedding; some even wait up to a year and take it as a first anniversary honeymoon.

You wont get much for $350. I would honestly just save money until you can afford an actual honeymoon. I don’t think going somewhere in the woods for a weekend, or going camping for a few nights will be much of a honeymoon when you seem to have your heart set on a cruise.

It sucks that your parents aren’t contributing more.. but it is YOUR honeymoon. You should be footing most of the bill!

@vintagefair:  My Darling Husband and I are leaving for our honeymoon on Wednesday and we got married in July so not a problem to take the honeymoon later…and it has given us time to save so we can take an extended honeymoon haha!

I would do a road trip / camping honeymoon for sure.  Only if you like camping, obviously.  Otherwise, check out groupon and the like – you can often find a 2-for-1 deal on nice hotels and bed and breakfasts in your area.  You could definitely do a nearby weekend getaway for $350.

I think taking some kind of honeymoon is really essential – all the wedding advice I’ve read from others said that to get away even for a couple days right after your wedding is so special and so different from any other trip you’ve taken or will ever take…

Fiance and I plan to have a mini-moon costing roughly $350. We’ll be staying at a bed and breakfast in Luray, VA (mountains!), where we will have a double jacuzzi tub in our room, homemade chocolate truffles awaiting us w/ a bottle of champagne, rose petals scattered about, and a fireplace in our room 😉

I can’t wait! lol. We’re going to go to the caverns, go on a private horseback ride, have a picnic…and make full use of the jacuzzi tub & fireplace (cus it’ll be fall).
