Hi guys!
So I’ve decided to eliminate alcohol from my diet (*gulp*), partly because we’re getting serious about this TTC business, and partly because I was getting a little uncomfortable with the amount I drink. Normally, Darling Husband and I have a glass or two of wine with dinner, but this week I’ve stopped doing that. I do get a little sad watching Darling Husband drink (and hearing him comment on how good the wine is…!), so I was wondering if any of y’all have easy, low calorie mocktail recipes? I started looking on pinterest but a lot of them look rather involved and, in many cases, pretty sugary. Any suggestions would be much appreciated! 🙂

epon10642 : When we were doing Whole30 (no alcohol allowed) we’d get a yummy flavor of fruit juice and cut it with a complimentary La Croix flavored sparkling water. It makes it kind of like a mimosa, especially if you drink it out of a champagne glass. It’s also pretty low calorie because most of it is water.

I don’t know HOW low calorie this is, but my go-to mocktail is 7 up and rasberry juice!

I know theres a *tiny* bit of alcohol, but my new drink is just soda water and a couple drops of bitters! It’s a really good refreshing drink and no one really questions it when you order it out. There are so many yummy flavored bitters out there you could buy to have at home, but the regular old stuff the bars serve is great! Theres like under 25 calories in the drink, I believe!

The La Croix waters are seriously delicious. I’ve been using them to cut soda from my diet.

Not so low calorie, but I’m currently not allowed to drink so I’ve been doing Shirley Temples. Sprite/7 up and grenadine syrup. Colorful and yummy! Plus, no one hounds me about not drinking because it looks like a cocktail.

Thanks all for the suggestions! I’m gonna have to find some sparkling water when I’m at Costco this weekend; I think I’ve seen La Croix there.
Hodgy527 : Omg I used to LOOOOVE Shirley Temples as a kid! I might just have to treat myself to one this weekend…

I second the soda water and bitters. It’s been my go-to throughout my pregnancy. I’m not big on sweet drinks, so a few drops of bitters is my way to go.
