Congrats and glad you are happy with your pics.  Unfortunately, to me, they look very amaturish and I think that may have something to do with the price.

I think it all depends what kind of results you are looking for. Photography tastes are highly subjective, just like dress preferences and ring preferences.

I am noticing some lighting issues in your photos but there are some shots that I really like. You made such a beautiful bride.

It only matters if YOU like your pictures.

Those pictures  are excellent!  I love the bubble shot.

As long as you’re happy with your photos then that’s all that really matters!

But personally I think this is an instance of “you get what you pay for.” The title of your thread got my hopes up really high and then when I scrolled through your photos it was kind of a different story. Unfortunately I don’t think they look very professional quality and almost like a guest with a decent camera took them.

I love them! My favorites are probably the b&ws, but they’re all good!

OP — my wedding pictures cost $500 and were taken by a couple of family friends who are mostly amateur photo enthusiasts. I absolutely love every single picture they took, and I can’t imagine I would have been happier with a more expensive photographer, because I’m already at a 10 on the happiness scale and this isn’t Spinal Tap.

Maybe some people who have trained themselves to see any and all flaws in photos would be unhappy with a less expensive photographer, but I feel like if they look good to me, then they’re good and that’s all that matters.

future.mrs.koban:  I hate to say this but, even though you look absolutely beautiful, the photos are just okay. I wouldn’t even assume that they were taken professionally. It really depends what kind of photography the couple is interested in. If all you care about is having someone there to capture images, then there is no need to spend an arm and a leg on photos. For brides interested in higher quality or more artistic images, the saying “you get what you pay for” is very accurate (for the most part). The most important thing is that you are happy with them.

I’ll agree to disagree. The photos aren’t bad but they aren’t up to what I would consider quality. You look lovely and I’m glad you’re happy with it, but photographs are forever and they were the one thing I was absolutely under no circumstances going to skimp on. The photos, however, are not great.
