Have any of you ladies had a very low key rehearsal dinner? What did you do or what was your theme? We are having a fancy Halloween Eve wedding so I was think of doing the rehearsal with JUST our bridal party and having it very low key. Is it standard to invite family? What about significant others of the bridal party? The whole bridal party lives about an hour away from our venue so that was another issue…WHERE do we host the dinner? Has anyone had a potluck at someone’s home? This was one of my ideas….or a pizza party?

Pizza party! That’s what we did. We had it at our venue, which was a ranch property that we rented for the weekend. A lot of family who traveled from out of town/state came, along with our bridal party. It was super casual (I brought a cute white dress that I never ended up changing into!), low-key and a lot of fun. I’m glad we did it that way.

We didn’t really have a rehsearsal. Since our weding was semi destination about 2-3 hours away. Darling Husband didn’t come down for the rehseral. I just walked through the ceremony with the Minster. i had written the entire ceremony myself, Darling Husband and I wrote our own vows. We did a quick verbal run through
Darling Husband was still back home. My Family were still on their way to the location
Then I went out to a resturant with my Aunt Uncle and Future sister and law. We each paid our own meal at a nearby resturant.
its not a big deal. I was in a friends wedding and she had her rehersal dinner at an adjacent bar & grille. The menu was wings chicken fingers various kinds of pizza and beers. It was fine.

I’ve been to rehearsal dinners running the gamut of all levels of fanciness but the one that sticks out in my mind was catered by Qdoba. They brought it to the church where the rehearsal was and we dug in- buffet style. It was AWESOME.
Ours was on the 4th of July so of course we had BBQ which was perfect but it was also about 65 people. So small it was not lol. About half of our guests were from out of town so they were all there- I tried to think of it as another chance to catch up with my guests! 🙂

We had homemad spaghetti with our bridal party and family in another room at our church where our reception also was. It was as fun as the wedding honestly. My sister had hers just at a restaurant with a large private room. I would say that family optional depending on your family dynamics but I would for sure invite bridal party SO if they are having to drive to the site.
