@QBbride:  Me too. I was like a ball of hormones when I went off of the pill for two weeks and then right after going back on, bam there went my drive.

I am working with my doctor to find an alternative cause this is ridiculous!

I had the same issue! I noticed that my drive was much lower about a year and a half ago but I couldn’t figure out why. It made my feel really guilty because I wanted to want to have sex but I just never felt like it. I finally did some research on my pill and found tons of stories just like mine. So against my doctor’s reccomendation I stopped taking my pill (not sure why she didn’t want me to stop) and I’ve been off of it for about 6 months. My libido is definitely better but still not back yet… It might just take time?

Is anyone considering and IUD? I’m terrified of the procedure but I think it might be a good option?

ive been on the pill since i was like 15 originally for my skin which has all cleared up as i got older but i don’t feel like i have  a drive and i think the pill is to blame. I don’t want to go off the pill tho is there anything you can take to increase it? ive heard them advertise these pills but im not sure if they actually do anything.. its takes ALOT for me to be in the mood it really sucks.. thought i was the only one!

I definitely believe that being on the pill has lowered my libido, but I also agree that it can be psychological. Right now, I am feeling pretty low about myself, particularly my body, and do not feel particularly sexy. Hubs and I are definitely in a dry spell, and it’s because I’m so uncomfortable with myself…and has absolutely nothing to do with him, except for the fact that he’s been working 15 hr days and I’m asleep a lot of the time when he gets home.

I’m the same. I’ve been taking them since before I had sex, so how am I to know if it’s affecting me. I’m very seriously thinking about stopping them, at least to try.

I was on Orthotricyclin Lo and had absolutely NO drive. The thought of it actually made me want to cry! Needless to say, I went off of it and feel much better.

Depends on the dose but yes, I’d say so.

I’ve been on BC for years and on several different strengths. I have to say until your body gets used to it (maybe 1-2 months) you may experience low sex drive… I know I still do sometimes.

it tends to whack out my system at first no matter what pill i was on .. :/

I was on orthotricyline-lo for several years and never experienced an abnormally low libido. In actuality I was in the mood on a daily basis. We had sex 5-6 times a day for years, no lie. Sorry for the Too Much Information.

Or maybe that was my low libido, and if I wasnt on BC, I would have been a crazier nympho. Or I was just lucky it didn’t affect my sex drive.

I’m on Loestrin BCP and I get this all the time. My sex drive is so low sometimes that even when we try I’m not ready enough to have sex. It frustrates me because I think that my fiance thinks he’s not turning me on the way he used to (which is the complete opposite). He can turn me on like no other but my BCP just crashes my libido. As for him he hates the almighty BCP and wants me to go off of it. I told him not until we get married later this year.

I’ve heard lots of stories of girls who retained their libido back after going off BCP and I can’t wait to see if that’ll happen for me too.

I have no drive after going back on the pill. Unfortunately for me it is the only thing that keeps the cystic acne at bay.
