I would ask your alterations person.  It really is dependent on the dress and how it is structured/made.  If you lower a dress in the back then it may not be as structurly sound, thus it may not stay up as well as if you had just left it alone.

Just keep in mind that this change will most likely be expensive.

I would be concerned that this would affect the level of support in the front, but a seamstress can tell you for sure. If not I think it looks great as is.

Hi, I’ve just got my 6801 dress, I’m having the sweetheart neckline put in on my dress and having the lining taken in on the hips. Can’t wait to see how it turns out. Did you decide to lower the back on your dress?

I’m going mid April to see how it’s coming along. This is the only pic I have at the min, the hips and neckline still need to be adjusted. I think im going to wear a belt too.

I’m very curious about this also, the only dress I’ve found that feels like me needs some changes and lowering the back on it (it’s also strapless) is one of them

I didn’t lower the back on mine but I had it made in to a sweetheart neckline and had quite a few layers taken out of the bottom.

Ive attached 2 images from both of my weddings, one showing the different neckline and the other full length.

Changing the neckline line really does make a difference.

Hope this helps 😊
