I have an appointment there tomorrow at 10 am. I will be sure to post back with any and all details. I’ve heard the same thing that its like the Kleinfeld of the South. I really hope that it lives up to the hype. I’m a size 20 bride and since it is their semi-annual sale I dont’ know if I should try to buy a size smaller or go with what I fit in now and get it taken in. My wedding date isn’t until next June but I just can’t miss a sale so hopefully the experience and the prices are everything I dream them to be. Will be in touch. Laughing

I bought my dress from Low’s in back in March, and I must say, it was a much more pleasant experience than I had at David’s Bridal or Alfred Angelo, and a much larger selection! I’m a plus sized bride as well (street size 20), and I was thrilled with the service and comfort level. I’m not sure what it’s like during their sale days, but they have rooms dedicated to certain sizes, and you can browse the gowns that you can actually try on, or order one in your size. I ended up in the size 22-24 room, but my consultant also brought me dresses out of the 18-20 room based on my description of what I liked, and I actually ended up getting one of her recommendations :). I would definitely recommend going, just be prepared for a little bit of bridal overload, cause there’s probably thousands of dresses!! But if you’re like me, that’s the best part :))

Everyone in Memphis drives to Low’s! Future Mother-In-Law tried to get me to go there, but I decided against it… Let us know what the plus size pickings are!

DaisyMay OMG It was awesome!! Everything that you hear people talk about is true. The building is so southern and charming. Being a plus size bride, my size was up stairs which I didn’t mind one bit. It was more of a personal experience upstairs than downstairs because of other bride’s traffic. I bought along my Future Mother-In-Law, my two MOHs, my mom, one of my MOH’s moms and a close family friend of my mother’s. A large group I KNOW. But it was nothing short of everything I dreamed. I felt pampered and not rushed at all. I booked an appointment during their semi-annual sale and if you have time to fit the sale dates into your schedule I would sooooo do it. I have gotten my dress almost a year in advance but I don’t have any regrets!! I got a $923.00 Maggie Sottero for 1/2 price ($461.50)!!!! And drumroll please……I got a $432.50 headpiece/tiara for $24!!! It was an awesome experience. Any bride in driving distance of Low’s, should really experience this.

I know people who have had GREAT experiences, and nobody can beat their sales… but a lot of it depends on which salesperson you get. I went in *thinking* I knew exactly what I wanted, but turns out that style didn’t look so great on me. Consequently I had to try on several styles on to find what did! I felt really rushed by the lady that helped me, Goldie. She said “Sometimes its just time to pick your dress and make a decision and move ON.” This was after I tried on only about 7 dresses and had narrowed it to 2. I wasn’t even halfway through my appointment time that I PAID to schedule (yes, they make you pay a deposit to schedule dress try ons during their sale). Uhh, not exactly something I want to hear when I’m shopping for a wedding gown – an experience I’ve looked forward to my entire life.

However, the lady who did all my paperwork and the dress order was wonderful to work with!

@Grizz My group said that didn’t like my consultant but I was too excited to notice any attitude that they observed. I didn’t feel rushed at all. Did you go on a weekend or a weekday? When I booked my appt they told me that weekdays are less hectic and you don’t feel like they are rushing you appt. I worked with Ms. Lana. She was nice to me but let my MOHs tell it she wasn’t all that enthused. Oh Well. Like you said you can’t beat their sale prices.
