For the past 4 years I have had an abnormal pap smear. I have repeat paps every 6 months which is so annoying and I have had 1 Colposcopy. I have Low Grade Lesions on my Cervix. They moved up a grade but are still within the low grade category as of my last pap. I had my repeat today and the doc said if it is abnormal again she will have to do another colposcopy which super sucks because getting the biopsy freaking hurts. I’m just a little annoyed at this point because according to my doc and all my research it should have gone away on it’s own within 2-3 years and only 4% lasted longer then 2 years. Now it has been 4 years and I feel like I’m waiting around to get cervical cancer before they actually do anything. I’m young 22 so that is why they are reluctant to do something. Most woman my age don’t have persistant abnormal cells it usually goes away on it’s own but mines not. I really have little hope my pap will be normal and I just wish my doc would freeze the bad cells off already. Anyone else going threw this or have gone threw this? I’m getting frustrated. I also had a child 3 years ago and the cells did not go away. According to my doc alot of womans cells go away after child birth because it stripes the bad cells away in the birthing process but nope mine keep hanging around.
