Okay, I decided long ago I wanted pretty (but inexpensive) pink flats to be my wedding shoes. and then I saw these:
They’re Badgley Mischka “Dainty.” They’re perfect, gorgeous, and oh so pretty. They’re also $185, which is $85 more than my entire accessories budget…..
What would you do? Woud you buy the expensive shoes knowing that you’re going way over budget and hope to scrimp elsewhere? Would you give up on the pretty shoes and just try to find something else?

if you have time, maybe wait to see if they go on sale? i have seen a lot of Bridesmaid or Best Man shoes go on sale, on zappos or endless. they may not go down a lot, but probably below $100. it’s still over budget, but less so …
ETA: also, these pretty flats are probably very versatile and you will be able to wear them again after the wedding, if that helps you feel better about the “splurge”

Badgley’s often go on sale. I would try to wait for them to go on sale. Check on ebay and the other sits ms.fondue mentioned. Maybe even wait to see if someone gifts you a giftcard. I think they would make a good purchase if you can wait and find them on sale. I waited on the shoes I really wanted for my weddingbee and ended up getting them for $25 less. That was enough to make me feel good about the purchase.

Cute shoes, but I would definitely wait. They could go on sale or you could find similar styles or brands for cheaper.

I love those, both with and without the heel! I’ve been admiring them myself. I agree with everyone – they do go on sale pretty frequently, so maybe wait and hope, and in the meantime, try to find somethign similar!

They are adorable! I would check eBay on occasion too. Good Luck!

Thanks everyone. I should have included an option about waiting to see if they go on sale on the poll. I guess I’ll wait for a while, but I always worry that they will be discontinued or something.

Their are so many other important parts of your wedding that may cause you to go over budget. I don’t think pretty flats are something to splurge on.

Those are so lovely!!! Wow! I say wait for a sale – I’m sure endless, zappos, etc. will either have this specific pair on sale or will have a day when stuff’s 15% or 20% off. I’ve never seen such a lovely pair of flats. And like PPs said – you can definitely wear them with other clothes!

I agree on the “wait for the sale” and remember you may very well wear that again! I always buy what I like, but if it’s expensive, I wait for the sale always.

They are sooo pretty! I say go for it! You can always buy them now and if they go on sale return them and get the sale price. If you wait miss out on your size I think you might be upset! A good question to ask is – Would I ever wear these again? If so GO FOR IT! 🙂
