An interesting concept, but I’m curious how the finishing/craftsmanship looks in person.  The highly detailed-looking dress is only $999… similar dresses would be considered borderline couture so I’m wondering what the ‘catch’ is… you know?

I actually really like this one – the $999 one, which is so usually not my taste.

I only looked at the price after I opened up the dress I saw that I liked. Now that I see how low the prices are I’m also wondering the same thing as KristenGotMarried. If these dresses are truly good craftsmanship in person I would be extremely impressed with David’s Bridal.

They’re nice, perhaps not quite my style. The only one I really don’t like is PMK3441, because of the illusion bodice.

I can’t stand illusion bodices lol. Probably part of the reason I can’t stand Pnina Tornai… I could never wear something that looked like lingerie to my wedding.

It’ll be interesting to see how well that one sells…

@janetsnakehole:  Is it REALLY that popular, or is it just a high-fashion I-can-make-a-statement thing?

Of course I see stuff like that on SYTTD all the time, but I really am convinced that show is absolutely not a picture of any kind of reality ha ha. I’ve NEVER talked to another girl in real life who would actually want to wear a dress like that.

I kinda wonder if this is them trying to bring in a wider group of customers since they’ve closed Priscilla of Boston? I guess a lot of bees are more budget conscious and they’re trying to give girls the ‘couture’ experience for chain-store prices?

@janetsnakehole:  I think that would definitely be a good move on their part.

When I was looking for my dress, I noticed that there was a HUGE gap in price ranges (at least in my area) for dresses. There was a pretty big jump from DB (where most of the dresses I looked at were less than $750) and the local boutiques I visited, most of which started at around $2k-$2.5k.

I think they’d definitely benefit from catering to brides in a lower-mid price range. I had originally budgeted $1500 for my dress, but ended up going way over that because I wanted something a little ‘extra’ that I just wasn’t getting from the (albeit very pretty!) $450 dress I was interested in from DB.

If DB had offered more stuff in the $1k-$1.5k range when I was looking, I may well have ended up buying my dress there.

I am not a big fan because, no offense, I feel like (and Davids Bridal is not the only offender) the quality is so poor compared to the online photos. I just feel like you could get much better quality for $1200.

I actually saw LUXE at the store yesterday and ended up purchasing one for my wedding 🙂

I already had another dress made it from different boutique, but when it’s ready and have it in my hands, I kind of hating it….I don’t know why!! (I believe that happens to many brides!?) So I decided to change the dress, even it’s a last minutes!!

My wedding is coming within 2 months and I did not have that much choice of brands, I need new dress that I love, and it has to ready before the wedding!! That was a challenge.

Then my friend told me DB has ready to purchase dress as well if they have in stock or sometime they can arrange within 4 weeks. As everyones considers, I always felt like DB is not good quality so was not feeling to go at first….

I tried different dresses (I don’t even remember how many!!) then counselor who worked with me brought LUXE one (PWG3443, few people above already made positive comments on it Smile) that they just got it last week.

Though I did not fall in love with it at first….it was not my style and I needed more simple elegant, not too gorgeous with pearls and beading all over!

But I admit I was completely wrong! When I tried it, It looked gorgeous on me compared to any other dress that I have tried! I did not even think that I will find “the one” dress at DB ….!!!!

It is unique, elegant and gorgeous piece of work (especially compared to the price!) and now I really feel like to enjoying my wedding process!

So if anyone considering this LUXE line, I recommend to try it first and do not judge just to “look” or online photo.

And I personally think they did great job on this LUXE line, at least the one I gotSmile

And it seems like LUXE line is maybe still in marketing step or something.

They don’t promote it that much yet even in store or online, and did not even have them in their brand new catalogue (that just came out last week as well) .

Only sold in limited stores, store manager told me 30 stores only so far in US. So it maybe difficult to see the actual dress unless your close by store carries it!?
