I waited in bed and peed after. I’m not prone to UTIs though (never had one). Sometimes I would just go to bed for the night and pee in the morning.

I’m not sure if it actually helps but I figure if they made me lay the for 10 min after my IUI then it must help a bit!

No idea if it is a myth or not but in masters of sex he told his wife to lie on a specific side when they were TTC. I can’t remember which side it was though.

I laid down for 10 mins after because why not? I’m not prone to utis. No idea if correlation or causation but I did get pregnant.

It probably won’t help, but doesn’t hurt either.

I lie down for 5 minutes since that’s how long it takes the sperm to reach the cervix at 20 mph. After that you’re just lampin lol

I put a pillow under my back and had my hips up and legs against a wall for a good 20 minutes. I didnt want to take any chances as it was my first time TTC. Never had an UTI and doing that didnt result in one. Fell pregnant after doing this 3-5 times? during my ovulation window but it may be unrelated to the laying in bed thing.

Second time around, we just did the BD and I didnt do any of the earlier stuff and got pregnant again right away. So no idea if that actually helped. I think timing during your ovulation window is the most effective thing to do.

    I don’t think it’s necessary but a few minutes can’t hurt.

mus1ca1xo :  Idk about for regular sex, but when I did IVF they made me staying lying down for 15 minutes after they put the embryo in. And you need a full bladder to put the embyro in so those 15 minutes were torture! I did get pregnant though so worth it lol.

I mean I’m REALLY prone to UTIs so I peed immediately after sex every time. I’m talking maybe 30 seconds between ejaculation and toilet lol.

I got pregnant on my first cycle of trying so I dunno.

I always get up immediately after and go to the toilet. I’ve gotten pregnant 3 times, the first month of trying.

I got pregnant being on top with my daughter LOL.

The science on this says what leaks out is seminal fluid and not sperm. The sperm pretty immediately get where they need to be. So, it wont hurt anything… but probably wont help either.

It’s a myth. There is research on this. The view was caused by early small n studies that have been disproven (and only ever was thought to apply to iui, not ordinary sexual behavior.)
