@alishaloo:  It’s something that could be cute for the rehearsal dinner, however, I really think you really should rethink it for the wedding.  It’s such an emotional day and you have so much going on, that even for a professional, you’re not at your best performance-wise and it rarely turns out the way the bride or groom performing think it will.

Ehhh, I think you should do it at your rehearsal dinner or the day after brunch if you’re having one. Remember, it’s your wedding day—not a state fair or carnival with shows, games, and prizes!

Maybe you could put some of the lyrics on cocktail napkins or in a frame on the escort card or gift table.

As a wedding guest, I would feel uncomfortable with a impromtu performance at a wedding, especially one that repeats the word lingerie.  I like the idea of sharing your interests, but the day should be about you and your husband, not a theater act with your best friend.

Even if the performance is awesome, I’d be uncomfortable as a guest with the mentions of lingere and “sexy side” (And since that is at the end, is likely to be what guests will remember – studies show people remember the end of an interaction).

I haven’t heard this song though. Did you write the lyrics and they’re to the tune of an existing musical song?

I honestly find singing at weddings REALLY awkward, even if it is very well done.  Surprise singing, even more so.  I think this would be fun at the rehearsal, though.

Yeah, this isn’t appropriate for your wedding.  Do it at a shower or a rehearsal or in your basement, but not at your wedding.

Not appropriate. Marry the Man Today is one of my favorite songs to perform as well, but it’s not appropriate for the alter. I agree with PP to move it to your rehearsal, not when you should be focusing on your vows.

I read the lyrics vs. the lyrics you wrote, and it’s so different that I don’t think your guests will understand, nor get the jist of the joke. Also the lyrics are kind of gross as it is, but definitely inappropriate for a church.

@alishaloo:  That’s completely ridiculous to of you to say. You asked our thoughts and even had a poll with a response of “this is stupid”.

If you don’t want honest opinions, don’t ask, and especially don’t give people the opportunity to tell you its stupid in a poll.
