So I found our everyday dishes online at Macys and bought one set to see them in person. I liked them so I kept that set and added two more sets on my registry.
We on Saturday I went to look at my registry and they said product no longer available please find a replacement item.
So what do I do now? We’ve been using the set I bought for a little over a month. I have searched all over the internet trying to find them to buy. I found 4 bowls on Ebay. Which would give us a total of 8 bowls. I’m okay with that. But the dinner/salad plates I’d like to have at least 4 more if not 8 more.
Do I just sell my set and find another set I like? Mine are the Laurie Gates “LOLA” pattern. They are a blue/white/brown flower design. I could try to find solid blue or white plates to mix.
Suggestions please! 🙂

Those are some cute dishes! I would buy what you can and then try to mix some solids, personally.

Try signing up with Replacements. And call some of the local Macy’s. They may still have them in the stores.

This happened with us with our china. We registered for some Kate Spade china and received a few place settings (three, actually) as engagement gifts. Come wedding time, our pattern had been discontinued. A family member suggested we register for mixed and matched Kate Spade place settings because a lot of her line uses the same shapes and colors, and that’s what we did. I’m really happy with it, actually. It’s super unique because we have three different patterns total, but they look like they go together.
I would keep the sets you have and try to find other patterns that use the same colors and such.
Hope that helps!

i would mix match. i think that would look nice anyway.
this amost happened to us, but my fil’s saved the day! my fmil called me a few weeks before our engagement party saying that she and my ffil had been driving to every target in the area because our dishes were on clearence and they only had like one plate or bowl in each store and she wanted to make sure that we got them all. i felt so bad for them that they did that! but it was very sweet.

Thanks for the suggestions. I was leaning towards mix match but didn’t know if that was too weird.
@ artbee- I wish I could drive around from store to store and find the last pieces, unfortunately these dishes were only online itmes 🙁 That sure was nice of you in-laws to go get your items for you!

This happened to us. We hadn’t used the pieces we received yet so we returned what we had and registered for a new pattern. I was so mad when they did this!

Try that site… they have a lot of china and things that have been discontinued… and some things that aren’t discontinued. Hope it helps!

Thanks Daisylynn- they don’t have mine yet but I put in the request to let me know if they do get it.
Does anyone know where Macys discontinued items go? Someone said they thought their stuff went to Big Lots.
