Well, I’ve heard horror stories about Target but I can’t speak to them firsthand. On the Pro side, it’s target… they’re everywhere.

I’ve shopped Macy’s registries, and the process was easy, but the friend who used them registered for crazy expensive things. I’m not sure what the range is on items there.

Have you considered BB&B? I picked them for the return policy, the fact that they offer coupons and still have nice things we want, and because they’re a pretty widespread chain.

I always hear nightmare stories about Targets return policy and that the registry never updates correctly. I was happy with my Macys registry. The only thing I will say about Macys is they mark stuff up because they run sales aaaaall the time. So if your guests buy something full price they’re getting ripped off, but most people know to wait for a sale.

I registered at both and didn’t have any problems. The Target one was used more because they have a lot more affordable things. I honestly would go with wherever you shop more.

I’m pretty sure Macy’s gave us a ten percent coupon though for everything we didnt get but registered for. Also, both stores were awesome with returns.

Macy’s or BB&B.  Don’t go with Target!  Every single bride I know who has done a registry through them has had a nightmare with things not coming off, returns not going through, so much is in-store only making it hard to add things online, etc.

I didn’t go with Target because I saw what a horrible time my sister and BFF had with theirs.  Do you have a Kohl’s near you?  I also had a Kohl’s registry for house/kitchen stuff (they carry Paula Deen and a few other brands I like), and I had a lot of success with them.

Macys!! If you have a Macy’s credit card you get cash back onto your credit card for returns. (I didn’t register there for this, but I had a duplicate I returned and got the money back).

Target is hellish to return to.

@PinkMagnolia: Not all employees do this, I’ve gotten a few jerks who refuse to put the cash against my card.

@KatieLu: You can’t apply a gift card to prior purchases whereas if you return something and happen to have a $50 shoe purchase sitting on your card the returned cash would bring down your balance. Plus you don’t have to worry about losing the gift card.

ETA: If you decide to go Macys I would definitely get a Macys Credit Card. You get more reward points somehow… they explained it to me when we registered but I already had a card so I tuned the lady out.
