go to the macy’s store and sit down with one of the sales people in the registry dept..

don’t leave until they fix the problem.

I also have a Macy’s registry and card with them (card member for a long time).  I’ve never had a problem with the registry, but I have had issues with their customer service many times.  I enrolled my card online after registering.  If you still aren’t enrolled, go ahead and do this so you don’t miss out in the future.  As far as the received gifts, can you go back to the store and talk to a consultant again?  The customer service doesn’t return phone calls or emails even if they promise (I’ve learned this lesson), so you have to keep pestering them.  I don’t see why they couldn’t go back and add your gifts to the card.
