I can’t help feeling a bit suspicious because I’ve had to return 2 items and the receipt showed the purchase price to be below what I’ve seen online. Now granted the person who purchased the items may have gotten a special discount or something, so I can’t be sure. But I’ve been registry stalking pretty regularly (I know, I’m bad) and I know the prices of a couple of the items we had to return.

No… actually I think we got more back on one gift than I know my mom spent! Maybe it was a glitch? It was on my registry.

I used Macy’s registry and usually the items have a small barcode sticker on the box. That sticker (or the gift receipt) has information about the price actually paid for the items. The price paid may be lower than what you’ve seen online due to coupons or in-store only sales.

We have so far returned things to Bed Bath & Beyond and Macy’s, and were credited full price for everything and given store gift cards. They even credited us the 20% off coupon amount at BB&B. So now we have all of these extra promotional reciepts to use with our purchases. We’ve got about 10 20% off coupons and 4 $5-$10 off because that’s what people used when they bought the gifts.
