    @clairebbbear:  oooohh… very pretty!

    @Kissed_by_lightning:  I’d probably be hesitant to have a gown dyed unless (a) it was an absolute steal and I could afford to start from scratch if the dye wasn’t perfect, and/or (b) I was working with someone who had done this very thing many times and could show me a portfolio of their work. It looks like you have a little bit of time to play with it, so see who you can find in your area who has experience with this and look at what they’ve done in the past. The fabric composition will make a difference, so find your dyer before you find the dress.

    Another option is to buy a satin dress that you love the top of and have ombre tulle ( or other fabric choice) added over the top of the skirt, basically redoing the skirt. A good dressmaker or seamstress should be able to do this. If you find an inexpensive or clearance dress, it would probably not be that horrible non the pocketbook.

    @Kissed_by_lightning:  Wai Ching dresses are REALLY vivid. And some are fairly reasonably priced. These are all between $800 and $1800.

    @Kissed_by_lightning:  Ouma, on Etsy (she also has a brick and mortar store), does some ombre dresses. Monique (the shop owner/designer) would probably do something custom, also.

    @Kissed_by_lightning:  I am of no help but I wanted to say that the second picture you posted is absolutely gorgeous!
