Any Maggie Brides, do you know if Maggie charges anything for the petite length (3″ shorter).
I went to several bridal salons and tried on Maggie dresses and I am pretty sure that they told me that MS would do the petite length for free. Well I liked a dress from a certain store and I asked for the petite length and they wanted to charge me $85. They told me the seamstress could do it for less, but it’s tulle and lace at the bottom and if you just cut off the tulle at the bottom, and would take away the effect of the dress.
What was your experience? I refused to pay the extra charge for the petite length but was I wrong or will they make the petite for no charge?

I just ordered my Maggie Dress in a petite length at no charge. My seamstress didn’t even bat an eye. That said, my dress doesn’t have tulle on the bottom, it’s all chiffon (pic below)

My dress is a tulle skirt and my bridal salon ordered the petite size for me for free!
I think they are trying to rip you off!

My salon told me that ordering in the petite length is the same price as the regular length. Your salon is just trying to get you to pay more money.

I thought so. When I mentioned it to the salon I mentioned to them that Maggie does petite at no charge and she asked me where I had heard that. And I told her that I had heard it from everyone. And she said, “who is everyone”? And I told her that her salon was not the only location where I had tried on Maggie dresses and that every other store told me that they did petite at no charge. She insisted that they charged her store $85 but that she would do it for me for no charge.
I was so angry and I knew that she was trying to rip me off. I almost didn’t want to order my dress from them, but it was more than $100 cheaper at this store, so I made her assure me that she would order the petite length and ordered it from them. They are so shady, now I am upset at myself that I went through them!

I also ordered a petite and there was no additional charge to do that. In fact the salon was pushing that I order the petite, because I would save so much instead of having to get it altered.

The salon even told me that it would be cheaper to get it done through alterations, but knowing that there is no charge, they probably make some money off alterations. It seems like the salon manager is a big liar!
I guess I might have to consider getting my alterations done elsewhere!
