I tried this dress on today and absolutely fell in love with it. It was not the style or type of dress I was going for, but ya just never know. The girl at the bridal shop was good at her job and she knew it would look great. It is currently my first choice dress.

As for a veil, I want a long cathedral veil and had envisioned something with a lace edge…but the girl I worked with today suggested that any random lace edge wouldn’t work. She did say that they can make a cathederal to match the lace edging on the bottom of the dress. This will most likely be the route I go…we tried one on at the store (not with matching lace) but I can see how it would look absolutely stunning.

I can’t wait to put it all together….I was so nervous when the day started, I feel so much better now….love this dress!

I am ordering my Geneva dress. I love it but it is throwing off all of my ideas.  Wanted hot pink ๐Ÿ™  what is everyone doing for a head peice?

@nickivelozo: That is exactly how I came upon the dress. The sales girl showed it to me twice and both times I said no. Then before I stopped trying dresses on she asked me to try it on to humor her. So glad I did! Love it. Cant wait to wear it ๐Ÿ™‚

@csherred: I had to change my wedding colors because of the dress too. But the dress was more important than the colors so I went with it ๐Ÿ™‚ I think a long veil would hide all the beautiful details of the dress so Im either going with a fascinator/cage veil or just a headband or hair clip.

Hi Ladies,

I ordered the MS geneva about 4 weeks ago and over the last couple of days have started doubting my decision!! Does anyone have any images of the geneva dress on their actual wedding day? or links to a wedding that they have seen with the geneva dress?

Also i never wanted a strapless dress so am contemplating getting some lace added over the shoulder – tiny cap sleeves. any thoughts on this or better yet, has anyone altered the geneva or seen images of this?

I think i just need to validate my decision until it arrives and i can try it on again, i know i loved it on the day but i think as it wasn’t what i was originally looking for is why i am now having some doubts.

any help/advice would be much appreciated! ๐Ÿ™‚

@chippie123: there is another post on this site regarding veils that are suitable for the Geneva gown.  I put in the search engine “Maggie Sottero geneva” and it is listed 2nd.  In that post a bride had a bolero made to match the geneva. If you are uncomfortable wearing a strapless I would recommend a sheer cap or spaghetti strap.  The dress is very unique, and I don’t think you have made the wrong decision, but I am biased.  I love this dress, and after I bought it I still couldn’t find a dress that came anywhere close to how beautiful it is.  If you don’t feel it’s the one for you though, maybe you should keep shopping.  I just “knew” this was my dress.  I almost purchased another dress, and had it on order…i called the next day and changed my mind.  I wanted the Geneva.  This is your wedding…it’s your day…don’t have any doubts! Good Luck!

@LuvMYhp91011: Thanks for your response and advice! i hunted down the sample again during the week and tried it on again and its definitely the dress for me! i think I was just overthinking it (as i am with all our wedding decisions!)

i think i will definitely get something like a sheer cap sleeve but will decide once it actually arrives, another 4 months to go!

I am looking to purchase a preloved Maggie Sottero Geneva dress ivory size 8 or 10. Does anyone have one that they have worn that they are willing to part with? or does anyone have a good resource to find this dress used? I have looked and am having a hard time finding the geneva.

Thank you lovely ladies!
