I went to the bridal salon today to be measured for Kyra. The salon is going to order the dress, in my size and color and length (i need 5 inches off) for me to try and I do not have to buy it (but i am 90% certain i will)…didn’t even need a deposit!
When she measured me my bust was a 2/4, my waist a 4, and my hips a 4/6. UGH! I guess having 3 kids has caught up with me. She had me try on another maggie size 4 she had in a similar style and we felt the 4 will work, especially since it’s a corset back. I’m still a tad nervous though.
Anyone else have similar experiences?

Was the size 4 you tried on a sample dress? If a ton of other people have tried it on it’s going to be bigger than the one you receive! But if you don’t have to buy it (which sounds like an odd situation to me…) what’s to lose?
I ordered Sottero and Midgley with a corset size 10, IRL I’m a 12 and it was fine, a bit tighter than the size 10 sample tho!

@mchitt329: It was a sample dress. I’m not going to worry about it. I do not have to buy the dress so I’m not losing anything. thanks!

I bought the sample Alana at a sample sale. I measure in my bust 8/10, waist 8/10 and hips 10/12. The sample was a tad tight in my hips/thighs when I initially tried it on but I’ve been working on toning up and losing some weight. I haven’t tried it on since then (my wedding isn’t until Sept 2014) but I have toned up in the hips so I’m sure it will fit well now if not be a little big. The seamstress came and talked to me and said at the time we could take out the dress in the hips about 1/4-1/2 inch and be good. But now she may have to take it in
Here is what it looked like on me:
ETA: The sample size I bought was a size 10.
