I know most Maggie dresses can be ordered with an inner corset and a zipper over that but not entirely sure about the Divina. It doesn’t mention in the description that it can be ordered with a zipper but I don’t see why it couldn’t be.

You can order your dress with a zipper back at the time of purchase and will pay an additional cost. I am not sure how much, but I know Maggie dresses can be ordered this way. Just talk to your consultant about it. Similarly, if you have a seamstress that you trust, you could also talk to her and see if it’s less expensive to go that route. I am getting my dress altered outside of a salon, and I know sometimes women forget about this options. Hope that helps!

This is where my knowledge ends. I would definitely rely on the consultant and/or seamstress for that detail. Logically I would assume so, but again that’s a big guess on my part and not worth taking seriously on its own. Good luck!

For a non Maggie option, have you seen any of the dresses in the Mori Lee Blu collection?  I feel like there is a good amount of ruffly mermaid styles. My dress is from that collection and it is a zipper back but it looks like buttons.

I wish I had known this a long time ago. I loved my Maggie dress but I didn’t love the corset back.

To the OP, you would need to order it alot bigger if you wanted to alter it afterwards. When my dress came in my bust was really, really big. I could do the corset up as tight as it goes and it still wasn’t fitted to me. However, even with it being that big, I still couldn’t get it converted to button up back like I wanted. The seamstress said I didn’t have quite enough fabric. So you would need to take that into consideration when ordering. Ordering it from the manufacturer as zipper back would probably be easier.

@rome116:  Sorry it took me like 10 years to reply! I believe the style number for my dress is 5104 🙂

@rome116:  This is from four years ago, but apparently one Bee says it costs $125 to change a Maggie from a corset to a zipper:

I asked the same question in the Maggie Sottero Alana thread and was told by a Bee that it wasn’t an option:

So, I gess my answer is that I don’t know. 😛
