Hi there I purchased a Maggie Dress, (Angelina) and just wondering if anyone thinks it would be hard to change the neckline to a ‘sweetheart’ neckline? Or do you think I should just keep it the way it is???
Also, I am not 100% sure if I like the skirt (balloon hem) b/c I always thought my wedding dress would have a ‘pick-up’ stlye skirt, so I am wondering if it would maybe be possible to change the skirt?

It looks to be a sweetheart neckline already. Are you looking to make it more pronounced?

You can probably change the neckline, but I would think it’s less likely to be able to change the skirt. However, I think the neckline is nice. You’re right…it’s a dipped neckline rather than a true sweetheart, but I think it looks good!

Ya, I think I would like the neckline more pronounced.

It’s so pretty aleady! I thik the neckline might be fixable but the skirt looks like it might be a lot of work. I wouldn’t take the chance of having someone mess it up.

Thanks everyone, I think it is very pretty as well 🙂

In order to make the dress a sweetheart, they’ll have to remove a lot of the beading, possibly cut out some boning, sew the new neckline, and then replace the beading, so that’ll be expensive.
I don’t think it’s really possible to change the skirt entirely. Pickups would make it shorter, and would interfere with the drape on the front. But if you love the look of pickups, ask for a French bustle. It would probably be about seven points, and would definitely give you the look of pickups.
It’s a gorgeous dress!!!

I tried it on as well and it was what made me completely change my mind about the fabric of a dress lol! it’s very luxurious and gorgeous!! i think that it may be fairly easy depending on how pronounced you’d like the neckline. If you start changing the structure too much you risk ruining the beading.

I honestly like the dress as is, but if you would like a dress with a sweetheart neckline and pickups check of Maggie Sottero Andrea (has bustles, bubble hem, and sweetheart neckline). Also, Maggie Sottero Dominique.

We have the same dress! I ordered Angelina a month ago. I love it sooo much I don’t think you could add pick ups without making it look weird. Like a previous poster said, there are a few other good Maggie choices with pick ups. Check out Ambrosia, she has a similar neckline, fabric, and train, but with some asymetrical pickups in the front. Very pretty. Also, the Andrea has the pick ups, though I think the fabric is different on that one.

Crebre80…what did you change your mind about? What fabric were you thinking of getting and what did you end up getting?

i was thinking of getting a much cheaper dress and then i tried on the fabric and fell in love with the luxuriousness of it. I ended up with a Casablanca silky taffeta dress…
