@KateS77:

Hey there KateS77

So – are you in the UK? I am. When’s your wedding? In Aug 2013.

SO I have seen, bought and got the replica Maggie. I too tried it on (in Cardiff) and fell in love.It looked amaze!! BUT at nearly 2 grand nonono. I got my knock off from an online shop where you put all your setails in and they send it to you. MUCH better price. I have not actually looked at it yet- I moved from Cardiff for a job and didnt know where I was going to be so got it delivered to my mums. I am going up on Sunday as it is 1/2 term to try it on. SO I am speakign from not my own experience but my mum and sisters. They phoned me when opening it and the NOISE they made! They LOVE it. Mum thinks it is more or less the exact same dress, really good quality etc. They sent me like 30 pictures in email of every single aspect you could imagine and think it is the best thing since sliced bread.

Enough of my blather – I got mine from instyle wedding dress but I have just had a look and I can’t see it. Total cost for mine less than £250.00 and mum and sis think its amazing. I hope you find it! Right! I have done a search of my inbox and found it(took ages lol) here it is http://www.inweddingdress.com/uk/style-de392.html

xx let me know if you go with it and I’ll let you know how the trying on goes. I am a generous size 12-14 (big bum and boobs and small waist) I am majorly worried about the boob issue though!

Hey KateS

SO

I tried it!!! AND I love it! After having som initial fear that I looked fat (because I only had been looking at pictures of models in it) I felt better. I think it will look MUCH better with a decent bra, though, but my sis (also a Kate) lifting my bust up made the dress sit better. The only slight negative is a bit of misfitting on the hips but then I have put on and lost weight since I bought it. I was going to get it refitted anyway closer to the wedding. Also – it DOESNT have a bustle so the train is long and loose – so that is somethign I will need to get sorted too.

The dress itsself: Thick, heavy and very well made. I would recommend. Wholeheartedly. I would also recommend a decent bra for wearing coz it will make it look better (though you may not be as floopy as me!). I went for the ‘ivory’ colour and it is lovely with ym skin – I am very dark haired and sallow/yellowy/pale skin. I find colours hard. I didnt get any photos of me in it but I can post one here?

So the boob issue is an issue but the back is not as low as I thought it may be so a low back bra/bustier will sort that. It is very becoming and though I am a curvy girl it fit and looked nice like it did in the shop. More so because it wasnt a size 8 being hung about me, slashed open because my bust was ‘too generous’ ( I had major issues in trying on dresses whihc is why I didnt buy fro ma shop).

I think you get less choice with colour etc and that going online mine is just ivory but it is lush.

Hi lauly101,

Would you be able to send all the pictures (the 30 you metioned in your email that your mum took!) to me? My email is [email protected]   I’m really thinking of getting this dress, it looks really nice!! I’d love to see what it looks like on!

Did you order the ivory colour? I’m trying to decide what colour to pick!

How long did it take for delivery? Did you pick a standard size or got it made?

Cheers!!! Kirsty

Hey ladies,

they didnt send me a pic when makign it – there was just one pic online and I bought it on the basis of that. Stupid, maybe? There was no half way through (though maybe you could ask them?) pic. I think the reason I was so confident was coz I bought a bridesmaids dress from light in the box a few years back and that was super-amazing and I did it to fit (I have like 39 boobs, 28 waist, 45 hips) so thought this site would be the same! Seems a bit of a gamble -and I’m not normally the type but it worked for me!

Kirsty- sure I will send you them all 🙂 Some are really poor pics, mind you…mum and sis were liek super excited so some are just blurs. None have whole dress in pics though… so its a hodge podge.

p.s. I got personal fit (massive bum and boobs and small waist) and it took the allocated time to arrive – can’t quite remeber coz I was midpoint through moving stress- so about 28 working days? Bout that. AND it came in like a teensy bag- so on the pics its quite rumpled but thats dropped out now. BTW wonderbra EU have a sale on so I got my 100 way wonderbra and a thong for £18.00 inc delivery! lol The bra shoud go superwell with the dress and if not well… Ill wear it!

Hi,

dont know if its any use to you but I am selling my maggie bernadette. I got married in in 3 weeks ago and it was PERFECT!! So many people complimented me on it. I am based in the UK too so may be worth bearing in mind. I am also quite short (5’3″) and I wore 8cm showas and the dress has been hemmed to that height so if similar to you may save some pennies??

Please contact me on [email protected] if you’re interested and I can send some pics of me in the actual dress.

Courtney
