I’m definitely going to be purchasing a Maggie Sottero dress (most likely the Jovi) and am torn on whether or not to get it in white or ivory. Most Maggie dresses I’ve tried on have been in ivory and I’ve liked them all on me, but I’ve always imagined getting a dress in white. I have dark hair and tan skin if this helps!
If anyone could post a picture of themselves in their Maggie dress in white or ivory, it would be so helpful – particularly the Jovi!
Thanks so much!!

Sorry the pic is so big…I can’t figure out how to shrink it 😛

I would ask at the bridal store to try on a white dress to compare how it looks with your complexion. Really the best way to tell. Personally I like ivory but again, that’s what I chose.

This is not the Jovi, but my daughter in Ophelia in diamond white/champagne.

I agree with PurpleUnicorn on diamond white. I am also tan with dark hair and I chose diamond white, sorry no pics yet. With your coloring though you can’t go wrong either way.

I am also tan with dark hair and find that ivory, or even champagne complements my coloring very well. I feel like bright white looks too stark on me. Just go with what looks best on you though.

My gown was the Maggie Sottero Summer in Ivory and I have dark hair but really pale skin.

I love white. But I would also not only look at what looks good on you but also what goes good with the “feel” of your wedding. For example, I have all cool tones in my wedding decor and am therefore going with white because I feel that’s what goes best with what I have planned. I would think that the opposite would hold true: if you have warm tones in your wedding then I think ivory would be the perfect match.
With that being said. I have seen Maggies Diamond White (which is in between a white and an ivroy) and I think it looks fantastic. I say if you are on the fence go with Diamond White. You can’t go wrong.

This is white cyrstal organza. The dress only came in diamond white or white, and the diamond white looked more ivory to me. I’m very happy with the white! I once was afraid it was going to be “too” white, but turned out for the best. Seems like it can depend a lot on the fabric…

I would consider the fabric and detail of the dress. I know the Jovi well and the ivory taffeta is very nice. I think pure white dresses in general can mask detail sometimes and photograph almost blue. Take a look at the maggiesottero website and look at the real jovi brides. You should be able to tell between the ivory and white ones. From looking at the pictures of the ivory ones, they appear a very light ivory.
