Oks o I know there are lots of opinions on this topic…most girls are unsatisfied with their dresses or have to have changes done several times. However, I am looking at getting the dress below…with no lace or belt and with a zipper back with buttons and loops…which is not possible form the designer. It comes with a corset back only…not to mention it is out f my price range. my thought process is that because the outside fabric is just a tulle/chiffon type fabric the quality of the material is not as crucial (not one will tell if the under part is silk versus satin). And the silhouette I feel is basically pretty simple…and like I said I want no embellishments or lace, etc. I will purchase a belt, accessories myself and add them. What do you guys think? Too risky? Where should I go online?

@LibbyDawn: i think it depends – how much is the replica and are you willing to lose that money if it doesn’t work out? have you tried this dress on at the salon (so you could see how it fits). do you have someone who can accurately measure you? to me it actually looks pretty constructed (you’ll need to make sure the bodice fits you well to get the full effect).
other things to consider – what is your budget? i was actually surprised, i watched all those tlc shows and thought dresses had to cost thousands, but really that’s not the case. Check some smaller shops. i expected them to be a rip off, but found plenty of dresses under $1000.
it sounds like you know you want a zipper in the back, but there are some pros to the lace up (one of my friends got so stressed before her wedding & lost all this weight, she could barely keep her dress up) – I on the other hand like to eat when stressed and notice in my everyday clothes that sometimes 5-10 pounds really matter for fit, so the corset back gives you a little flexibility, if this is a concern for you

thanks for the advice…i totally know what you’re talking about with the corset, and my weight does tend to flucuate (how in the world do you spell that? oh actually that might be the right way) lol. I just love the look of the buttns down the back. i’d love to find the ones with a zipper back over a corset. hmm…

hello. I was wondering the same thing. Did you go with an original or replica?
