Hi,

I ordered the dress and the salon I tried it on at said it could be bustled. I am hoping that I can bustle it up so that it still shows all the layers.  For my first dance I want to have a wrist loop so I can just hold it up.  I am getting it in February and my wedding is in May so I can post pics eventually if no one else can before me.

I totally forgot to even ask the salon about a bustle!  I hope it can be done :-/

Hello,

I tried on the dress and fell in love with it. My biggest concern was the first dance and not tripping in the dress. I didn’t think about a bustle…..thank you. I thought about ordering a second dress just for the reception. Thanks for the advice

The lady at the salon told me it could be bustled. It would have to be added by the man doing my dress alterations. She pinned the dress to show me what it would look like bustled and it is gorgeous!

I just ordered it… there are a few different ways it can be bustled; so many it made my head spin, actually! Lol (I told her I’d have to wait until it came in to decide! 7 months should be enough time to think about it, right?) She did mention that it would be best to separate the 2 layers. I’m not sure how they bustle the under layer but the top layer looks much nicer and is a lot lighter ( less likely to rip from the weight of all those layers/fabric). The first time I tried it on my gf picked a spot right in the center of the train and lifted it up to the top of where the skirt started- it looks really full which I love and you can still see all of the layers!

One of my BM’s took a pic… I’ll see if I can get it!

When trying on this gorgeous dress this was the same concern I had. it has such a beautiful train for ceremony and pictures but too much for receptions. I would love to see what a bustle can do fit it. The girl at the salon was really sweet but didn’t show what a realy bustle would look like. I won’t know until i get the dress…so seeing a picture before hand would be great.

lisapeterson2   thanks for your picture! It looks great bustled. Are you wearing an underskirt in this photo? Did she pin or hold it up at one point? I’m wondering how many points would be needed for the bustle.

Thanks for the photo of the bustle. It looks a lot better then the make shift job the lady did on mine. Is that bustled underneath as well?

Sorry for sounding like a newbie, but what does it mean to have a dress bustled? I recently got engaged and have just started looking at dresses online. I’m seeing a lot of terms which I don’t know the meaning of! lol .. The reason why I’m asking on your board is because I’m in love with the Divina dress, so it interests me what it means to have the dress bustled and how it would affect this particular dress. Thanks bees ๐Ÿ™‚
