I am a size 2-4 in regular cloths. I ordered a size 8 Maggie gown… even though I’m pretty petite, I have hips. I was in between the 6 & 8 in the hips. My salon recommended that I order the larger size so that there is no pulling in the corset back. If you get a size that is a little small and you don’t want alterations to let it out, the corset is great because it gives you a little wiggle room. But you also don’t want the "V" that the corset makes to pull (stretch apart) at the very bottom.
I’m 5’3.5, and will be wearing 3.5" heels. I did not order the petite, because I wanted the dress to sit slightly lower on my hips. The bottom of my dress is very full, and my bridal consultant (who was AMAZING and knew soooo much about all of the dresses) said that if I ordered the petite, it is smaller all over, so the fullness would start a little higher. With the regular length, i will have to hem it (included in my alteration price), but the poofiness will start a bit lower.
msduck, which one are you thinking about???

i ordered the parisa one, i was concern because i am normally a street size 0 or 2 and the shop said i should order the size 0 because the maggie size 0 waist was a couple inches bigger but i keep hearing ppl ordering bigger sizes and i still haven’t gotten the dress yet, it is suppose to come in any day now, so i am super nervous

I went up about one size when I ordered my Maggie gown. And it is nice that they allow you to order a petite size – even though I am so short I am getting the petite size taken up several inches! It is a great dress – the "Gloria" – and super comfortable. Yay for Maggie brides!

My dress was ordered one size up from my street size, and was concerned about what would happen if I gained/lost weight. My bridal consultant kept telling me about how great my dress was for that b/c it allowed for what she called the "fudge factor" by having a corset back. Thus, I can fudge on the size by tightening or loosening the corset as needed. I’m 5’5 and plan on wearing heels, so I ordered the regular length. It should be in any day; I’m so excited!

I wore a Maggie Sottero dress and loved it! However, I was not very happy with the way my salon did the dress ordering.
I am a street size 4 or 6 depending on the designer. When they took my measurements I was a Maggie Sottero size 6 according to the chart. The sales lady insisted that I order a size 8 to be "on the safe side". I refused because I was not going to buy a dress that would have to be altered no matter what (mine was also a corset back). After arguing they finally let me order the 6 , but only after I signed a waiver saying that I would not hold the salon responsible if the dress did not fit because I did not order the size they told me too.
So, three months later I get my dress, I’ve lost a total of 4 lbs during this time, and I go try it on and it is TOO BIG! The sales lady, a different one than before, said "I don’t know why you ordered the 6, you really should have ordered the 4". UGH!!!
So, luckily one of my bm’s is a seamstress and she was able to take the dress in for me. Here is the stangest part — I have a 32 D bust and the top was HUGE on me! What do average size girls do?

I’m a street size 2-4, and I ordered a Sottero & Midgley in a 2. It fit perfectly, though small alterations might need made to the length and the straps during my final fitting in March.
I was told their dresses are long enough for a 5’8" girl wearing 2-inch heels, and since that is my height, I didn’t add or take away any inches when I placed my order. But when it came in, I was surprised at how long my dress was. Now I might need to wear 3-inch heels, or have the dress hemmed to make the length work.

My Maggie should come in ANY DAY now
What an ego booster trying on Maggies! I’m a street size 6 and ordered it in a 6!! Before I found her, I was trying on sizes 8-10!

my maggie is a few sizes smaller than what i normally wear– i’m a 12/14/16 in street clothes (depending on the style/cut), but my vernice gown is a size 10.

I’m a Maggie girl and LOVE it! I was all set to buy a Mary’s dress. And then the bridal salon seamstress asked me to try a dress on and I was sold! It’s the Capri leigh. 😀
Ok back on topic! I ordered a 14, a size smaller than my normal street size 16/18 top, 16 bottom. The corset back styles are INCREDIBLE for any bride because it gives you the custom fit in the torso without heavy alteration. I just have to have cups sewn in the top to help boost the girls and the bustle put in. Go Maggie brides!

just wanted to add that the size 0 did actually fit, so I guess for me, my street size was the same as my dress size, what a relief

My normal dress size varies from anywhere from a 6 to a 10 (mostly 8 and 10), and I’m ordering my Maggie dress (corset back) in a size 10. The sample dress in the store is a size 8, and the corset ties up and looks fine, it just feels pretty snug. I’ve actually lost weight since I last tried it on, but I’ll probably still go with the 10.

I am a street size 10 and I ordered a size 16 dress, because of boobage. I tried my dress on last week though, and it’s waaaay too big.

I’m a street size 4, and 5’5". I’m so glad this question was posted, because I was wondering about ordering the petite size (but my consultant talked me out of it).
I also have large hips. I originally wanted to order size 6 because of that, but she said I falled in between size 2 and 4. I stuck with 4 because of the corset and because of my hips.
The corset back is also very forgiving, and she also asked me how I wanted to corset to look – wider or more narrow – to determine the dress size I ordered.

also wanted to remind the girls who do get maggies to male sure to get the certificate of authenticity.
wondering for all other maggie brides, if their certificate was blank or filled out by hand by the store?

I have a maggie dress…normally a street size 8(ish) and I got a 10 fits perfectly no alterations needed at all when I picked up the dress…now I’m a street size 4-6 and I haven’t tried on the dress since I picked it up…I’m curious if I’ll need any alterations….
